Tanzania Accommodation

Accommodation in Tanzania ranges from standard hotels and lodges to high end luxury safari lodges or tented camps and beach resorts with a full range of facilities and entertainment in the wilderness as well as the cities of Arusha and Dar es Salaam. It does operate a star-rating system for accommodations; although it cannot be compared to what you would expect in the European Countries or United States although there are some world-class, luxurious, and intimate places in wonderful settings in the parks or the coast.

Majority of the tented accommodation has concrete or wooden floors with en-suite bathrooms with hot and cold running water and flushed toilets and electricity provided by a generator. The lodges have a main building with a lounge, dining area and a bar and the rooms are either part of the building or in cottages that blend in with the wilderness

The coastline of East Africa is a perfect tropical paradise for a beach holiday with diverse peoples and cultures and close proximity to wilderness areas. The main attractions are the palm fringed white sand beaches, the corals gardens and possibility of diving, fishing, windsurfing or swim in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. You can choose from a variety of accommodation ranging from 3 -5 star resorts and smaller intimate and exclusive properties The Kenya coast is divided into distinct areas, namely:- Mombasa, North & South Coast, Malindi and Watamu, and Lamu each having its own unique characteristics and attractions.

We have divided the accommodation into two categories :- Classic properties  – which are larger hotels/lodges/camps and exclusive that are smaller, more intimate and personalized.

A large selection of hotels, lodges, tented Camps, homestays and luxury resorts to suit your budget and personal preference are listed under each area on the right hand column. To view the description and images, click a park for a list of lodges/camps.
